Daily Reflections

Starting Divine Mercy Sunday, get 10 days of daily reflections straight to your inbox on the dramatic history of God’s plan for mercy in our times as presented by Fr. Michael Gaitley in Divine Mercy In The Second Greatest Story Ever Told, an Augustine Institute Studios original production. →

Alleluia... God has taken our part, taken our suffering upon Himself. The final consequence of sin is death – eternal death in hell. By passing through death, Jesus reveals and opens the new life of glory with the Father. He overcame the pain of death so as to remove the pain of the eternal death of condemnation. After forgiving, redeeming, re-creating us in His likeness, He offers to us the fruit of the Tree of Life – His Body and Blood. Satan’s trickery is only in this life. The Accuser and Tempter only has passing things to offer in exchange for our eternal salvation. Even the devil’s final victory of bringing us to eternal horror in death is torn from him as Christ resurrects from the dead. “Death where is your victory? Where is your sting?”
So now we sing the “Alleluias” – the untranslatable word of praise and rejoicing in the Divine. Our only offering – our sins. God’s offering – forgiveness and life! There is the deal of a lifetime! He is risen! Alleluia!
Know of my prayers for a most blessed Easter time in your life!
